Play the classic game of Tug of War in your backyard. All you need is a tug-of-war rope and two cones to play.

Split the kids up into two teams and have a team on each side of the rope. When you say go the kids will need to pull the rope toward their side of the cone. Whichever team gets the flag in the middle of the rope over their cone first wins.
