If they get a balloon into the basket all the kids after need to try and make the exact same shot. If they miss they get a letter in the word HORSE. Once a kid spells the whole word horse they are out.

Tip: You can use any word so if you want the game to be shorter pick Frog or Cat or something like that.

Balloon Pop Race

Hilarious Party Game for Kids Balloon Pop Race. Kids love working on teams to pop the balloon quickest to win the game. Super easy game to play at birthday parties and backyard BBQs

Divide the kids up into even groups of 3-4 kids. On one end of the room put a line of chairs to match the number of groups you have. Then on the other end of the room have a start line with the kids lined up with their groups.

When you say GO the first kid races with their balloon to a chair, places it on the chair, and needs to pop the balloon by sitting on it. When they pop it they run back to their group and the next kid goes.

The first group to get all the kids to pop their balloons on the chair and make it back to the start line wins.

Surprise Balloon Pop

Fill several balloons with small lollypops & treats and the rest of the balloons with just air. Blow up enough balloons to cover the floor in your room with balloons. When you say GO let the kids start stomping on the balloons. The goal is to find the balloons with the treats.

Add Competition – If the kids are older add some competition to see who can pop the most balloons. Have each child pick up the balloon once they popped it and at the end add up all the balloons each child has popped.

Whoever popped the most balloons wins. The best part is it gets the kids to help you clean up the floor.

Keep it Up – Pool Noodle

Balloon Keep It Up with Pool Noodles and Balloons. A fun game to play on rainy days at home or as a cool party game. A cheap and entertaining game kids will love with Dollar Tree supplies.

This is a fun outdoor game with a group of kids. Give each child half of a pool noodle and one balloon. I usually buy a bunch of pool noodles at Dollar Tree and cut them in half.

Make sure to space the kids out so they are not all bunched up together and hitting each other with pool noodles.

When you say go they toss their balloon in the air and use the pool noodle to keep the balloon from touching the ground. As soon as their balloon touches the ground they are out.

The one who keeps their balloon up in the air the longest wins.

Keep It Up – Circle

Have a group of kids hold hands in a circle. If you have a bigger party you can make several circles and create a competition. The goal of the game is to keep the balloon up in the air without using their hands. Players can not let go of the people next to them to get the balloon.

Players can use their legs, head, or pull up their arms with the person next to them to try and hit the balloon back in the air. Do this just for fun to see how long they can keep the balloon going or have different groups compete to see who can keep it up the longest.

This is a hilarious game to watch!

Balloon Stomp

To create the balloon stomp game tie a ribbon to the end of a blown-up balloon. Then tie the ribbon & balloon to each child’s leg. When you say go the kids try and stomp on each other’s balloons.

When your balloon is popped your out. The last child without a popped balloon wins.

Water Balloon Games

Water Balloons are a summer favorite for kids. They’re a great way to cool the kids off in the summer heat and they’ll have a blast playing.

The first step is making your water balloons. I would suggest using the rapid-fill water balloons that hook up to your hose. It’s so much faster than individually filling each balloon.

Once filled divide the balloons up evenly for each team and place them in a large bin.

Next, divide the kids up into two teams and give each their own side of the yard. I add a line in the middle of the field to divide the two teams’ areas. You can use cones, chairs, or even a measuring tape to make your line. This lets the kids know they can’t cross that line and don’t hurt anyone by hitting them too close with the balloons.

When you say GO kids can start throwing balloons and having fun.

Find more water balloon game Ideas -with water balloon baseball and water gun battles in Outdoor Games for kids with Dollar Tree Items.

Balloon Spoon Race

Balloon Spoon Race Game for Kids - Great Party Game for Kids at Birthday parties or backyard BBQs

This is just like the Egg Spoon race but you use a balloon instead. It’s a little more challenging because you need to walk slower to keep the balloon from blowing off. The smaller you blow up the balloon the easier it is to play.

To set up have a start line and a chair at the other end for the kids to walk around. Have the distance closer for younger kids. Then break the kids up into teams and line up behind the starting line.

The first team member places a balloon on a spoon and when you say GO walks around the chair and makes it back to their teammates without dropping the balloon.

When they get back the next teammate goes and continues until all team members go. The first team with all their players back wins.

Tip: Use a larger spoon like a serving spoon to help keep the balloon from falling off to often.

I hope you found a few balloon party games that your kids will love. These inexpensive balloon games for kids are a great way to keep them entertained both playing at home and at a party.

Kids will love this fun game of Charades for Kids plus it’s super easy to run. The game can easily be played outside with the kids sitting with their teams in the grass and the person acting out the Charades standing up in front.

To play first, print out our Free Printable Charades Ideas for Kids with 144 Words & 8 Categories to choose from.

Then break the kids up into teams. You can do two larger teams or if you have a lot of kids maybe make 4 teams.

Have a bowl with the printed-out Charades words for the kids to pick from when it’s their turn.

The first player on a team has 1 minute to act out the word on their paper. If their team guesses the word before the 1 minute is up their team gets 1 point. If they don’t guess the word the other team has one chance to guess the correct answer and win the point.

Trade-off between teams taking turns until all the kids have had a chance to act out a word.

The winning team has the most points at the end of the game.

Hula Hoop Contest

Have a hula hoop contest with the kids. You could do this in two different ways.

The first is playing the traditional way with the kids seeing how long they can keep the hula hoop going on their hips.

The second is a hula hoop toss. Pair the kids up and line them across from each other. The kids will toss the hula hoop to their partner and see if they can catch it. Each time they catch it have the kids take a big step back and try again.

The last two kids left who haven’t dropped the hula hoop wins.

Musical Chairs

Musical Chairs is a fun birthday party game for kids both indoors & outdoors.

Play musical chairs outdoors with the kids. Place a line of chairs in your yard with one chair less than the number of kids playing. The chairs will be back to back so the kids can walk in a circle.

When the music starts they walk around the chairs following each other in a line. When the music stops they have to find a chair to sit on.

If they don’t find a chair they are out. Before the music starts remove one chair and play again. Keep going until only one kid is left with a seat. Whoever gets that seat when the music stops wins the game.

Potato Sack Races

Sack Races are a fun Outdoor Birthday Party Game for Kids to play in your backyard.

Sack races are super fun and hilarious to watch. For this game, all you need are a few cheap pillowcases or sack race bags.

Have kids step into the sacks and line up. When you say go they have to hop to a designated spot. The first to cross the finish line wins.

Tip: To add another activity to the party you could buy white pillow slips for each child and let kids decorate them with markers before the big race.

Sandbox Treasure

Younger kids will love playing in the sandbox at the party. Before the party hide little items in the sand for the kids to find. I would add items that go with your party theme.

Treasure ideas – plastic dinosaurs, unicorns & fairies, superheroes, army soldiers, or construction trucks.

You could even give each kid a sand bucket and shovel for the dig. SAVE MONEY by finding buckets & small figures at Dollar Tree.

Tug of War

Tug of War - Fun Backyard Party Game for Kids. Perfect for Outdoor Birthday Parties, picnics and family events. A super easy game they'll love to play.

Play Tug of War with the kids. All you need is a large tug of war rope for the kids to pull. Tie a flag or place a colored piece of tape in the middle of the rope. This will let you know when one side passes the line you make on the ground.

Lay out the rope on the grass and have a cone or type of marking in the middle. Evenly divide the kids up on each side of the rope. Have the stronger kids at the ends.

When you say go have the kids start pulling the rope. The first team to have their flag pulled over the cone loses.

Tip: Make sure to do this game over a soft surface like grass in case they fall down while pulling the rope.

Mini Carnival Games

Set up a bunch of mini carnival games all over you yard. The kids can walk around and try all the games. You can put a basket of small prizes next to each game and let the kids know they get one prize after each game.

Give each kid a small carnival bag to collect all their prizes.

Here are a some Game Idea for Your Carnival:

You could also get a carnival yard set if you don’t have time to create each game.

Limbo Outdoor Party Game

Play a game of limbo with the kids. All you need is a long limbo stick for the kids to go under and some music.

To play have an adult hold each end of the limbo stick. Line the kids up and have them try to make it under the limbo stick without touching. Each round lower the stick and see who can make it through.

Water Balloon Toss

Water Balloon toss is a fun DIY backyard party game kids will love to keep cool this summer.

If it’s a summer birthday party break out the water balloons. You could have a good old fashion water balloon fight or do a water balloon toss.

For the water balloon toss pair up the kids and have them stand in two lines facing their partner. Start off closer together and toss the balloon to your partner. If your partner catches the balloon they then take a giant step back.

Keep going until only one team is left that hasn’t popped their water balloon.

Tip: Get the water balloons that will hook up to your hose to fill a bunch at a time. It’s so much easier than fill each balloon up individually and you don’t have to tie the balloons.

Are you ready now to play all these fun outdoor party games for kids? I hope these backyard games will be perfect for your kid’s birthday party.

Make sure to SAVE MONEY on party decorations and goody bags with our favorite Cheap Birthday Party Supplies at Dollar Tree.

Planting a Tree on your child's birthday is a Meaningful Tradition kids will love. Plant a tree on their birthday and take pictures with the tree as your child and the tree grow.

A sweet memory my grandparents did for us was planting a tree when we were born. Then each year we would take a picture with our tree. It was a really meaningful birthday tradition we all loved.

Don’t worry if you didn’t start this when they were born any year you start will still be special. If your kids are older they can help plant the tree and get excited every year to take their picture. It may even become their special place in the backyard

School Lunch

Birthday Journal

Keep track of what happened during the year in a birthday journal. We love the Your Birthday Book as it’s a simple way to write a few things down each year and has a time capsule folder for special memories for each year.

Sit with your child and fill out the yearly interview and decide what was special that year to add into the time capsule. As someone who is terrible with baby books, I found this birthday journal to be simple and easy.

You could also create your own journal pages and paste them into a scrapbook with pictures from the year.

Measure Their Height

Track how much taller your kids get each year with a family growth chart. This is really fun to see when they are older and remember how little the kids were when you started.

You can track their height the traditional way by marking a wall in your house but I find that to be a challenge if you move.

Another option is to get a large ruler you can pull out or display and mark each year. There are beautiful wooden rulers or roll up rulers you can easily pack away in between birthdays. It all just depends on how much space you have.

Tip: Find a ruler or wall space to mark that has at least 6 ft height so you can use it until the kids turn 18.

Read a Birthday Book

Start a tradition of reading a special birthday book together each year. It can be a classic book like Dr. Seuss or a birthday-themed book. Even as they get older they’ll still love hearing you read to them.

Here are a few birthday themed books by age

Birthday Crown or Hat

Make sure everyone knows it’s their birthday with a special birthday hat or crown. Kids will love wearing it while they eat dinner or open presents. We have a family hat that everyone wears on their birthday and it really is an easy and fun tradition.

If you don’t like hats use a birthday pin. Kids can wear the pin to school or on your family outing.

Are you ready now to make some amazing memories with your kids. I hope your family will love these meaningful birthday traditions as much as we have. It’s a fun way to celebrate your childrens birthdays and really make them feel special.

Playing Games on Zoom with Kids is a great way to throw a fun virtual party. The games can be added to any of the other theme parties as an extra activity.

Here are a few Zoom Game ideas, but you can find more in my Zoom Games for Kids and instructions for the games.

Or if it’s easier, write the answers on a piece of paper and have everyone hold up their answers at the same time.

BINGO – You can drop bingo cards off ahead of time at each kid’s house with a small goody bag. Then at the party, all you have to do is call out the numbers.

Heads Up – This is a cool game for older kids using their iPhone on Zoom together. All you need is the Heads Up App. Kids hold it above their head and it shows a word. The other players give them hints so they can guess what the word on their phone is.

Kids love the excitement of Minute to Win It Games. They are hilarious one-minute games where the kids race each other or the clock to win.

To do this on Zoom, give each child a list of items they will need to compete. Or drop off a bag of the items they will need at their house before the party. Have the kids set up all the items in front of the Zoom camera.

A few easy ones would be stacking and unstacking solo cups, stacking pennies, seeing who can keep a balloon up in the air the longest, or using a straw to move Skittles from one plate to another.

Let the birthday child compete or be the clock keeper for the games. They can watch to declare which child is the winner of each round.

Rock Painting is an easy craft, too. Have the kids pick a rock out in their yard before the party. Then drop off paint and paintbrushes in a goody bag for the kids to paint the rocks.

If you want it as a group project, give instructions on which colors and patterns to make and let the kids follow along.

Emoji Bracelets – Create simple jewelry pieces together on zoom while kids chat. You can pick up small kits to give to each child.

Pinterest is filled with easy crafts to do with kids. Have your child help pick out one that they are excited about and plan the party.

Use a Scavenger Hunt list of items you would like the kids to find around their house. For example, something red, a book, a hairbrush, a watch, or a blue pillow.

While on Zoom, read off one item at a time from your list for the kids to go off and find. The kids then race to find the item and to be the first one back to the Zoom frame with the item.

You could track the child who has the most wins or just let them do it for fun, depending on the age.

Costume Party

Have all the kids get dressed up for the Zoom party. It could be their old Halloween costumes or something to go with your child’s party theme.

I would keep the theme broad to make it easy for the parents to make the costume such as Super Heroes or Princesses.

It’s really fun to see what everyone dresses up as and for them to show off their costume on Zoom. Then let the kids play a few Zoom games in their costumes.

Sports Subscription Boxes are a fun Birthday & Christmas Gift Idea for Kids. They'll be thrilled each month when they open a box filled with items from their favorites sports. Each box is chosen with a child's age so their sure to get the perfect gift. Give the gift that keeps coming with these fun Sports Subscription Boxes. #gifts #giftideas #christmasgifts #birthdaygifts #subscriptionboxes #sports #boys #girls

Lego Party

Have the kids create a Lego set together. You can drop off or send through Amazon a small Lego set. Then, while on Zoom together, you read the directions and the kids go step by step putting the set together.

At the end, they can show off their Lego builds.

Another option is to do a 10 minute Lego challenge. Kids use the Legos they already have at home and have 10 minutes while on Zoom together to create something with random pieces of Legos, not a set.

At the end of the 10 minutes, hold it up on Zoom to show off their creations.

If you do the Lego challenge, tell parents in the invite for kids to pick out 25 random pieces of Legos to bring to the Zoom Birthday Party.

Dance Party

Hold a Zoom Dance party. You can either just play music and let them show off their dance moves or learn a new dance together.

Use the split-screen on Zoom to show a YouTube video teaching a dance your child likes. Keep the kids on the other side of the screen while they practice the dance.

After you practice a few times, take off the video and play the music for them all to dance together.

Make Up Party

Older kids love to watch YouTube videos on hair and makeup. Take this interest and make it into a fun party. Have each kid do their Zoom by a mirror and have makeup ready.

A fun goody bag would be to drop off eye shadow or the type of makeup they will use in the video.

Do the Zoom split screen again with a YouTube video tutorial on one side and the kids practicing on the other. Once done, let the kids show each other how they look.

Fortnite Birthday & Video Game

Are your kids huge Fortnite or Video Game fans? Have a set time for all the kids to go on and play video games together.

We like Fortnite birthdays because up to 16 kids can play on Creative mode together. The great thing about this game is kids do not have to have the same type of device to play. They can play on mobile, Xbox, PlayStation, or PC. This will allow more kids to play.

Then they can hop on Zoom when done to celebrate the birthday child with a cake or a Zoom game. I’ll talk more about the cake below.

TikTok Challenge

Older kids are loving TikTok right now. To play, let the birthday child come up with a TikTok challenge idea. Then send out an invite with the challenge. Have each kid make their own TikTok and then show it off on Zoom to each other at the party.

Or pick a popular TikTok dance and let the kids try to do it together on Zoom. This does not need to be filmed, just do the dances for fun all together. You can show the video on your Zoom split-screen for the kids to learn the dance.

Netflix Watch Party

Movie-loving kids will love Netflix’s new Watch Parties. Kids can watch a movie together at the same time and talk in the side chat feature as they watch. All you need is a Netflix account and Chrome Browser Extension.

If you don’t have Netflix, use any cable channel or the new Disney+ and let the kids watch together on Zoom.

Add to the party atmosphere by dropping off microwave popcorn and candy as a goody bag to all the kids before the party.

Science Birthday

Have a fun science birthday by doing a few cool science experiments for the kids to watch. Pick ones that are quick and have a big bang. Then set the experiment right in front of your computer so all the kids can see it on Zoom.

An example would be to make an exploding Volcano. They’re really easy to make and super cool to watch. Find out how to make a Volcano in 3 easy steps at home.

Rain Clouds in a Jar is another quick and fun experiment. All you need is water, shaving cream, and food dye. Use all different color food dyes to make a bigger impact on the video.

Get more easy at-home science experiment ideas from Happy Mom Hacks Pinterest page.

Birthday Marathon

Set up 10-15 minute Zoom Calls with a small group of friends or family several times throughout the day to celebrate your child’s birthday.

A big Zoom group can be overwhelming and hard for the kids to talk so smaller groups, especially with younger children, will be easier.

Birthday Party Favors & Signs

Virtual Birthday Parties Ideas for Kids

Birthday Party Favors

If your guests live close by, consider dropping off the day before the party birthday party favors filled with items they need for the Zoom call. Plus maybe some candy or something with your theme.

With guests that live further away, use online ordering like Amazon to get small Lego sets or crafts sent to the kids attending.

Birthday Signs

Much like the popular birthday parades kids are going to now, have friends attending the Zoom party create birthday signs for your child. They can all hold them up when they get online to greet your child.

Cake or Dessert

What is a birthday without a cake or dessert? If the people invited live close by, drop off a small dessert or cupcakes to eat with the birthday child on the Zoom call.

At the Virtual Party, have the guests sing Happy Birthday and let your child blow out the candles on their cake. It will make it feel more like a birthday party.

Decorations

Decorate the background of your virtual party with streamers and balloons to help give a festive feel to the birthday celebrations. We love to find Cheap birthday party decorations at Dollar Tree.

Charades Ideas for Kids

Free Printable Charades Ideas for Kids. A fun family game with 8 Charades categories & words lists.

Kids will love this fun game of Charades plus it’s super easy to run all you need are the words and your set to play.

To get ready first, print out our Free Printable Charades Ideas for Kids with 144 Words & 8 Categories to choose from.

Then break the kids up into teams. You can do two larger teams or if you have a lot of kids maybe make 4 teams.

Have a bowl with the printed-out Charades words for the kids to pick from when it’s their turn. I suggest folding over the papers so no one sneaks a peak (:

The first player on a team has 1 minute to act out the word on their paper. If their team guesses the word before the 1 minute is up their team gets 1 point. If they don’t guess the word the other team has one chance to guess the correct answer and win the point.

Trade-off between teams taking turns until all the kids have had a chance to act out a word.

The winning team has the most points at the end of the game.

Hot Potato

What You Need – An actual potato or get the electronic Hot Potato that plays timed music to make it easier to run the game.

Saran Wrap Candy Ball

What You Need – Pieces of Candy or small trinkets for prizes, 2 -3 boxes of Saran Wrap (Cling Wrap), 2 dice, and tin pie holder (to roll dice)

How to Make Your Saran Wrap Ball – Start by laying out a couple of layers of Saran Wrap on a flat surface. Then add a prize and roll it into a ball. Next, add another piece of candy in a different location and wrap a few more pieces of Saran Wrap.

Rotate the ball each time you wrap it so the wrapping starts in different locations and is harder to open. Also, make sure to keep shaping it into a ball as you go.

Keep going with alternating between wrapping and adding a prize until you’ve wrapped all your prizes.

How to Play – Sit the kids in a circle to play. Each round has an “unwrapper” and dice player sitting next to each other.

When you say go the unwrapper starts unwrapping and the dice play throws their dice until they get doubles. Use the pie tin to throw the dice into so they don’t roll too far.

When they get doubles the unwrapper has to stop and can keep any prizes that came out while they were playing.

The ball is then passed to the dice player who now becomes the unwrapper and the player next to them is the dice player. Keep going like this around the circle until you’ve come to the last prize.

Tip: I would add the best prize you are giving in first when wrapping the ball. This way the last prize of the game they open is your best item.

Musical Chairs

Musical Chairs is a fun Birthday Party Game for Kids.

What You Need – Enough chairs for all the kids but one. So if you have 12 kids have 11 chairs. Plus music to play during the game.

How to Play – Place chairs in two rows with the backs of the chairs touching the row behind them. Kids begin by forming a circle around the chairs.

Next start the music and the kids walk in a circle around the chairs. When the music stops they must sit down on a chair.

The kid who does not get a chair is out. Each round after someone is out, remove a chair and play again. In the end, you will have one chair and two players. Whoever gets that chair is the winner.

Laser Maze

Indoor DIY Laser Maze for kids to keep them busy on rainy days when your stay indoors. #indoorgames #indooractivities #lasermaze #kidsactivities #kidsgames

What You Needstreamers, painters tape

How to Play – Create a fun laser maze for the kids to climb through at the birthday party. It’s super easy to do with streamers taped across your hallway.

I suggest using painters tape so that you don’t ruin the paint on your walls.

When it’s all set up let your kids try to get through the maze without touching the lasers (streamers). To make it a game have the kids race through and time them to see who is the fastest.

What You Need – Blank 8X11 Paper, Crayons, Paperclips

Hide & Seek

This is a classic game and great for smaller kids’ birthday parties.

How to Play – One child is the seeker the others are the hiders. The seeker closes their eyes and counts to 10. While they do that the other kids hide.

The first kid they find is the seeker for the next game. Continue to keep searching until all the kids are found then start another round.

Mummy Wrap

This is a great game at Halloween time but honestly, it’s really fun any time of the year.

What You Need – 2 Rolls of Toliet Paper per team

How to Play – Divide the kids up into teams. Each team then picks one person to be wrapped up like a mummy. When you say go each team will work to cover that person with toilet paper.

There are two ways you could pick winners. 1 – The first to wrap the entire body of the player. 2 – The first to go through all their toilet paper.

TIP: It’s tempting to buy the cheap toilet paper but it tends to rip easily and it is harder to wrap the mummy.

Tennis Balloon

What You Need – paper plate for each kid, popsicle stick for each kid or wooden spoons, masking tape, crayons, and balloons.

How to Play – Have each child start by decorating their paper plate and taping it to a popsicle stick or wooden spoon. Then team up kids in twos and give each team a balloon.

When you say go one player throws the balloon up and the team hits the balloon back and forth like a game of tennis. If a team’s balloon touches the ground they are out. The last team left in the game wins.

Indoor Bowling

What You Need – 10 Empty Water Bottles, One Soft Ball or use a kid’s bowling kit.

How to Play – Set up the water bottles like bowling pins. Then have the kids roll the ball and see who can knock down the most pins.

What You Need – Large wooden spoons, water balloons and small cones or chairs to race around – If it’s cold you could use ping pong balls instead of water balloons.

How to Play – Give each player a wooden spoon and a small water balloon. When you say go they race around the cone and back to their starting position. The goal is to make it back without dropping the water balloon.

We have tried tons of different types of Nerf guns from the Nerf Modulus to Mega Nerf Guns, Zoombie Nerf Guns, Star Wars Nerf Guns, Laser Guns, and the Nerf Strongarm.

Follow along to hear all about each gun and find out the pros and cons. I have included a picture of our actual guns so you can see what they really look like and not just an advertisement picture.

The Best Nerf Guns for Kids

Here is our honest Nerf Gun review based on our kid’s use of these Nerf Guns. We will tell you the Pros and the Cons so you have an informed decision of what to buy.

Nerf Modulus

The Nerf Modulus series is very popular because of all the Modulus attachments you can get. These attachments will work on any of the guns in this series and some will attach to other Nerf Guns too. Kids are able to customize their Nerf Gun to what works best for them or just what they think looks cool.

My biggest con with the Modulus is many of them use batteries that can run out quickly if they forget to turn the Nerf Gun off. However, this is quickly overlooked by the kids (:

Nerf N-Strike Modulus ECS-10 Blaster

Kids favorite Nerf N-Strike Modulus ECS-10 Blaster - Full Nerf Gun Review

Kids can make up to 30 different combinations on the Modulus ECS-10 Blaster using attachments. The actual Nerf Gun comes with a blaster, targeting scope, drop grip, dual-rail barrel, storage stock, banana clip, 10 darts.

It shoots the nerf bullets to an impressive 90 feet away. The ECS-10 is a fully automatic gun so it is easier to shoot than some of the other Nerf Guns. However, that means you need 4 AA batteries to run the gun and they are not included.

Pro – It’s pretty easy to shoot and has a handle on the top to help the kids hold the Modulus.

Con – It uses 4 AA batteries that will need to be replaced and we have issues with it jamming sometimes.

Nerf Modulus Mediator

The Nerf Modulus Mediator comes with just the middle piece of the gun (pictured on the right side) which can be used alone or kids can add on attachments. The fun part is the kids really get to customize their own Nerf Gun.

The actual gun can be used alone without attachments and comes in at a lower price than the other Modulus guns.

Attachments usually used for the Mediator are Mediator Barrel, Missile Blaster , Nerf Silencer and Mediator Stock.

Our son really loves to add the Day/Night scope which adjusts to the time of day and zooms in to see targets better. The missile blaster is like a mini rocket launcher which is a big hit with the kids but uses a missile instead of Nerf bullets. Both of these can be added on top.

Kids can also use any other modulus add ons they have to make it their own.

A fun idea for this particular Nerf Gun is to buy it as a gift with just the small Modulus Mediator. Then add on attachments for other birthday presents or holiday gifts.

Pro – Your kids can start with a Modulus gun at a lower price and then add on only the attachment they really like. Also, this version is not motorized so need for batteries. Yeah!

Con – You have to piece together the different attachment if you want a larger Nerf Gun which can get expensive.

Nerf Modulus Regulator

Review of the Nerf Modulus Regulator

What is unique about the Modulus Regulator is it comes with SwitchFire technology. This allows the users to switch between three different modes of single-fire, burst-fire, and continuous-fire.

To help users stabilize the Nerf Gun while shooting there is a retractable handle on top. Kids are able to pull it up when they need it or fold it back down.

The Regulator comes with a storage stock and 2 barrel-scopes, (2)12-dart clips and 24 Modulus Elite darts. This Nerf gun is also motorized so users will need to add 4 C batteries that are not included.

Pro – The ability to use the SwitchFire technology really makes it stand out from other Nerf Guns

Con – You will have to use 4 C Batteries and who has C batteries at home.

Nerf Gun Tri-Strike

Nerf Gun Tri-Strike Nerf Gun Review for kids

The Nerf Tri-strike has three different ways to use it. You can shoot the rocket on top of the gun, the Mega bullets in front and the regular nerf bullets. Kids love the versatility of this Nerf gun it makes it more fun. Parents will love that it does not need any batteries to run.

Like the other Modulus Nerf Guns, you can use any of the Modulus attachments to customize the tri-strike for your child. It comes with an Elite Dart blaster, MEGA Dart Barrel Extension, Missile Launcher Stock, 10 Elite Darts, 10-dart clip, 4 MEGA darts, missile, and bolt (2 pieces). You really get a lot with this Modulus Nerf Gun.

Pro – It comes with a lot of attachments and has three different ways to shoot. Also, parents will love that no batteries are needed.

Con – This might be harder for younger kids to shoot the rockets and mega bullets as you need to pump the stock back and get air to shoot it far.

Refills for the Elite Missiles

Nerf Modulus Attachments

There are tons of cool Nerf Modulus Attachments to purchase. We have purchased a lot and have no issues with any of the attachments. All seem to be built well and last.

With that being said I would choose your attachments based on how your kids want to customize their Nerf Gun. Here is a couple that our kids like.

Mega Nerf Guns

Nerf N-Strike Elite Mega Lightning Bow

Cool Nerf N-Strike Elite Mega Lightning Bow Review for Kids

The Nerf N-Strike Elite Mega Lightning Bow is a twist between a bow and arrow and a nerf gun. It shoots Mega Bullets up to 85 feet which is a pretty good range. To shoot it you add the Mega Bullets and then pull back on the bow.

Pro – Kids like that it’s something a little different than a regular Nerf Gun and more challenging to use. This is great for target shooting.

Con – It only holds Mega Bullets and when you hold the bow down the bullets fall out. Also, you only get 4 Mega Bullets with it so you might need to buy additional Mega Bullets to play for a longer time.

NERF Megalodon N-Strike Mega

Kid Favorite Nerf Megalodon N-Strike Mega

The Nerf Megalodon N-Strike Mega has a huge rotating barrel that holds 20 bullets. It almost seems like something Al Capone and the gangsters would have used in the 20’s.

With this gun, you can individually shoot the Nerf bullets or hold down the crank handle on top for rapid-fire. The Megalodon uses the larger Mega bullets and it comes with 20.

Pro – Kids like using the handle on top for rapid-fire. Kids who are smaller can also use the crank as a handle to give them a better hold on the Nerf gun.

Con– It only uses Mega Bullets

Nerf N-Strike Mega Mega Mastodon

Huge Nerf N -Strike Mega Mega Mastodon is a favorite for kids. Read the Nerf Review to learn more.

This is the mother of all Nerf Guns. It is huge and comes with a strap to help the kids hold this heavy gun. I will admit when my son got this I thought it was crazy but he absolutely loves it and all his friends think it’s so cool.

The Mega Mega Mastodon is a motorized Nerf Gun that has a rotating barrel which holds 24 Mega Bullets. Besides the strap, there is also a handle at the top to help kids hold the gun.

Pro – It looks super cool and shoots well

Con – It is very heavy and probably better for bigger kids. Also, you need 6 D batteries to run it and the motor goes through them pretty quick.

Mega Bullets Refills

Zombie Nerf Guns

Nerf Zombie Strike SlingFire Blaster

Review of the Nerf Zombie Strike SlingFire Blaster for Kids

The Zombie Stike Sling Fire is Nerf’s version of a shotgun. To shoot you pull back the bottom lever and then push the trigger. It comes with a 6 dart clip and 6 zombie strike bullets.

The only difference between regular nerf bullets and zombie bullets is that the zombie bullets are green. You can see above that we use the regular blue nerf bullets and they work just fine. No need to buy a bunch of new green zombie bullets unless your kids really like them.

Pro – You can use other clips you have at home to hold more bullets in the gun. You can see in the picture above we added a larger clip. Kids really like the zombie theme of the gun for Nerf Wars at home.

Con – This Nerf Gun tends to jam a lot when we use it. However, it is pretty easy to take the jammed bullets out and play again.

Nerf Zombie Strike FlipFury Blaster

Nerf Gun review for the Nerf Zombie Strike FlipFury Blaster

The Zombie FlipFury is a cool looking nerf gun with double barrels. Each barrel will hold 6 bullets. When you finish your first 6 you simply flip the barrels and your second set is ready. It’s that quick! The speed is a huge bonus when kids are playing in a nerf game.

Like the other Zombie Nerf Gun, this one also comes with green zombie nerf bullets but you can use any regular blue bullets in this gun.

Pro – It’s great in a nerf war with the two barrels that switch quickly.

Con – It takes a couple of times to get used to adding more bullets while turning the barrels.

Zombie Refill Darts

Nerf Strongarm

Nerf N Strike Elite Strongarm

Nerf N Strike Elite Strongarm a reliable Nerf Gun for kids.

This is our go-to dependable Nerf Gun. The Nerf Strongarm is a great starter Nerf gun for little kids as it’s easy to use. There is a barrel to flip open which holds 6 bullets at a time.

This allows the player to shoot six bullets at a time while playing a game. The players need to pull back the slide on top and then pull the trigger

Pro – This Nerf Gun jams the least out of all the nerf guns we have. Which is a big deal as some Nerf guns jam a lot. The gun is easy to use for all ages and reloading is simple to do while your playing.

Also, they are cheap to buy. We buy these for all the kids at our backyard Nerf Birthday Parties it gives everyone something to play and doubles as the goody bag item.

Con – It doesn’t shoot as far as other guns and is not as impressive looking as some of the larger Nerf guns.

Star Wars Nerf Guns

Star Wars and Nerf Guns are rivals for the most popular activities for boys. So why not combine the two and have it all!

Star Wars Nerf Han Solo Blaster

Star wars Nerf Han Solo Blaster is a hit with Star Wars fans.

If you are a Star Wars lover then you’re a fan of the Han Solo Blaster. Kids will love pretending to be Han Solo while playing with this gun.

It has cool laser blast sounds when you shoot and it goes off whether you are shooting bullets or just pretending to be Han Solo.

There is also Glowstrike technology that makes lighting effects when you shoot in the dark. The gun also comes with 4 glow in the dark darts.

Pro – Perfect for Star Wars Fans

Con – It’s not great for a Nerf battle but perfect for role-playing Star Wars.

Star Wars Nerf Episode VII First Order Stormtrooper Deluxe Blaster

Star wars fans will love the Star Wars Nerf Episode VII First Order Stormtrooper Deluxe Blaster. Full Review

Kids can pretend they are a stormtrooper battling the Jedi with this cool Stormtrooper Deluxe Blaster. It is not sold as a modulus gun but you can adjust attachments much like a modulus gun.

The scope and stock that come with the gun can be removed or added on depending on how kids want their Nerf gun to look. It also comes with a clip that holds 12 darts and is on the side of the blaster.

Pro – Great for Star Wars fans and works well. We also like that it comes with a scope and stock.

Con – Only fires up to 65 feet

Nerf CS-18 N-Strike Elite Rapidstrike

Nerf Gun Review for Nerf CS-18 N-Strike Elite Rapidstrike

The Nerf N-Strike Elite Rapidstrike has a few cool features. It has a built-in scope for hitting targets. There is also a handle on the top to hold the Nerf gun steady.

Our kid’s favorite feature is the adjustable stock on the back of the gun. Kids can change the length to fit their size allowing the Nerf gun to work with all different sizes of kids and grow with them.

The Rapidstrike is also pretty powerful with an acceleration trigger which powers up the motor for rapid-fire. It can shoot up to 90 feet away and has a jam clearing window to clean out any darts that are stuck.

Pro – It’s adjustable to any kid’s size and can shoot up to 90 feet.

Con – You need to use the Elite darts to avoid this gun jamming.

Nerf N-Strike Elite AccuStrike Series AlphaHawk

Nerf N-Strike Elite AccuStrike Series AlphaHawk review.

The Accustrike AlphaHawk is known for being more accurate. It comes with 10 specially designed darts for greater accuracy. This is helpful in a Nerf Game but you will have to purchase more Accustrike darts as the regular Nerf Bullets do not work well in this gun. It is easy to load however with the pop-out drum.

Pro – More accurate shot than other Nerf Guns

Con – You need specific Nerf bullets and it has no attachment options.

Nerf N-Strike Elite AccuStrike Darts

Laser Guns

The best Nerf Laser Guns for kids

The Nerf Laser Guns are super fun and I love that there are no Nerf bullets to pick up. This set comes with two Nerf Laser guns which makes it easy for kids to play together.

There is a switch to adjust play from single-player to team player if you have more than two laser guns. Kids can also choose to have either 10 or 25 lives to make the game more challenging. The guns talk and let you know when you’re out of lives.

I was worried about how well these would work but they have really impressed me. We have had them for a couple of years and they still work great. The kids can even shoot the lasers through furniture.

Tip: For Christmas one year a few of my neighbors all bought our kids these laser guns so a lot of kids could play together and we only had to buy enough for our own children. Just an idea.

Pro – No Nerf bullets to pick up all over the house or yard.

Con – They run on batteries so you will need to replace them but not that often. Just make sure the kids turn off the Laser gun when they are done playing.

Small Nerf Guns

Smaller Nerf Guns are great for Stocking Stuffers or small gifts. They are also easier for little kids to use than holding some of these larger Nerf Guns. Bigger kids can put them in their pockets when they are doing a Nerf Battle for a backup Nerf Gun. There are lots of possibilities with these small nerf guns.

Nerf Single Shot

Nerf Single Shot Nerf Gun for Kids

This Nerf Single Shot is compact and only shots one bullet at a time but can hold two more bullets at the top of the gun. Kids pull the lever on the bottom and then push the trigger.

Pro – It’s small enough to fit in your pocket for Nerf Battles and is a good stocking stuffer or small birthday gift.

Con – It’s tiny and only shoots one shot at a time.

NERF N-Strike Elite Firestrike Blaster

Nerf N-Strike Elite Firestrike Blaster -Smaller size Nerf Gun

This little Firestrike Blaster has a laser beam to help with accuracy which makes it a step up from the Single Shot Gun. At the top is a rail that you can add on attachments which is pretty fun for such a small gun. It can only shoot one bullet at a time though and you need to pull back the lever and then push the trigger. The Firestrike can also shoot up to 75 feet.

Pro – You can add attachments and has a laser beam to help with precision.

Con – It’s small and only holds one bullet at a time.
