KOA Wisconsin Dells – Camping, RV & Cabins Review
We really enjoyed our family vacation at the KOA in Wisconsin Dells. Our family members stayed in both the RV sites and cabin sites. Which was helpful for our thorough review.
As we explored we found all of the campgrounds and facilities were kept clean and tidy. We also had great interactions with the staff and found them to be very friendly and ready to help with anything we needed.
Camping, RV & Cabin Lodging
There are three different ways to stay at the KOA Wisconsin Dells. Families can bring their RVs, rent a cabin, or bring their own tent to go camping. Here is a break down of each lodging type.
When you arrive check-in at the main office. Then you will follow a staff member who will take you to your site and answer any questions.
Wisconsin Dells Camping

There are two types of camping sites at this KOA Holiday Campground.
The first one has no electricity hookups or water. It offers a grass pad and a picnic table.
The upgraded campsite offers water and electricity. These are also on a grass pad with a picnic table and a fire ring.
Many of the campsites are surrounded by trees for shade. Campers can access a dishwashing station, clean showers, and bathrooms near the KOA office. Parking can also be found by each campsite.
RV Sites
This KOA has several different levels of RV sites. When picking a site you will need to decide if you want a pull-through site or if you are okay backing your RV into your spot.
The deluxe sites include a grill, patio and a nice table with four chairs. They include all your hook ups and a pull through location for you RV.
For the other sites, the big difference is the AMP rate and they just offer picnic tables rather than the nice patio furniture. But if your camping this may be all you need.
Cabins
The Cabins at KOA Wisconsin Dells offer several different levels of sizes and amenities. From a basic structure to full bathrooms.
The Deluxe Cabin we stayed in offered a full bath with tub, small refrigerator, air conditioning, bunk beds, and queen bed. Outside there was a picnic table and fire ring. Ours also had a small TV with cable.
It’s basically one big room but there are doors on the bathroom and bunk bed area. However, we found it got pretty hot in the bunk bed area with the door closed.
Deluxe Cabin with Full Kitchen – If you want to cook you might want this cabin. It also has a full bathroom and sleeps up to six or eight. These would be great for a bigger family.
In the Deluxe cabins, you will have linens included and soap in the bathroom. These Deluxe Cabins are great if you’re not ready to fully camp but want to enjoy a KOA or if you have family or friends staying on the site in tents or RVs.
Camping Cabins are more basic with no bathroom facility. These come in different sizes with some having two sets of bunk beds and others with just one set of bunk beds. You will also need to bring your own linens for these sites.
Campgrounds Map
I wouldn’t worry too much about your campsite location as everything is pretty close. If you have kids who want to play on the playground or pool maybe ask for a site closer to those locations, so you can watch from your camp, cabin, or RV site.
Take a look at the KOA campgrounds map to get a better idea of the size and where each type of lodging is located.
KOA Amenities
The Holiday KOA offers more amenities to guests then a regular KOA. They also offer special events like movie nights and family game nights. There is a calendar of events you can check ahead of time to see what’s going on.
Bathroom and Shower Facilities – Located right next to the main office you will find clean bathroom and shower facilities.
Pool – A big plus is the heated outdoor pool and splash area for families. This area is open only in the summer months.
Playground / Basketball / Game Room– Kids will enjoy playing outdoors at the playground, gaga court, sand area, and basketball court. It is not a huge playground but it gives the kids an area to run around. There is also a sand volleyball court for older kids. Or they can play soccer or games in the grass area.
On a rainy day or cold day head indoors to the small arcade in the main building.
KOA Store – At the KOA Store and office you can pick up small items and get the kids ice cream.
Laundry Facilities – Are also available next to the KOA Office.

Dishwashing Stations – This is great for families staying in tents to have a clean area to wash your dishes.
Tips for Your KOA Stay
- This KOA books up fast in the summer and weekends so book in advance.
- There is free WIFI throughout the campgrounds. However, it doesn’t always work great. So make sure to download some shows on your device before you arrive.
- Quiet Hours – Are from 10 pm -8 am
- You can not bring wood in from another state to use at the camp. Plan on purchasing wood at the KOA to use for the fire pit. You can buy wood a little bit cheaper just down the road from the KOA too.
- There is a small area in front of the KOA for dogs to be off lease.
