18 Easy Self Care Activities & Gifts for Moms
Relaxation

You may think you have no time to relax but taking even 10 minutes a day to get a break will really help with your mental wellbeing. Here are some simple ways to do that at home
Journal Writing
Write in a journal your thoughts, memories, fears, and joys of the day. Just getting everything out at the end of the day can allow you to relax before bed.
We also like this quick morning 5-minute journal to start your day and feel organized. Give yourself that 5 minutes with a cup of coffee and your journal to focus on your needs for the day.
Read a Book
Find a great book to read in your favorite genre. Escape into the world your reading for a chapter or two each day. If you need a laugh check out Mom Truths by Cat & Nat.
No time for a book? Find a fun magazine and just flip through it. Check out the latest styles to wear, parenting advice, or dream about future travel destinations.
Bath Time
Take a relaxing bubble bath when the kids go to bed. Enjoy sitting in the silence or listen to your favorite music. Throw a few Essential Oil Bath Bombs in and get a bathtub pillow so you can fully relax.
Massage
Escaping to get a massage would be an amazing way to de-stress and pamper yourself.
If you can’t leave the house get out all those tense neck & back muscles with an at-home neck massager. The circulating nods will soothe and relieve all that muscle tightness we moms carry around. It’s kind of amazing.
Enjoy a Cup of Coffee or Tea
I started getting up 10 minutes before my kids and drinking a cup of tea by myself. That 10 minutes to relax and get ready for the day has changed me from a crabby mom into one who’s ready for the day ahead. A simple change can make all the difference.
This mugs sums it all up the mornings.
Make a Mommy Daughter Spa Day

Take some time with your daughter to relax together. Paint your nails, do a fun face mask, or just rest with cucumbers on your eyes. A great way to enjoy time with your daughter and destress.
Escape with a Movie
Find a great show or movie to watch and escape life for a little while. There are shows for whatever mood your in with something to laugh, cry, think, or just be mindless. My go-to is Amazon Prime it has tons of great TV shows and series you’ll love.
Declutter
Pick a room, closet, or small space to declutter. Getting a space organized and being able to find what you need can lower stress levels at home. Find out How to Declutter Without Getting Overwhelmed room by room.
Your Health

Staying healthy will make you feel better both mentally and physically. Try and do a little something each day even if it’s just drinking an extra glass of water.
Healthy Diet
As we get older keeping a healthy diet is more and more important. Make sure when your pushing fruits and vegetables on your kids that you’re eating them too. Make healthy snacks and meals your whole family can eat together. You don’t have to do it alone.
Drink Water
Drinking plenty of water each day has tremendous health benefits. It can help with memory & mood, constipation, your skin, reduce headaches, increases your energy, and help with weight loss.
The hardest part is stopping to drink enough water all day. My tip is to carry around a reusable water bottle and keep refilling it. If the bottle is close by and ready you’re more likely to drink it.
This cute water bottle has time reminders and encouragement to make sure you hit your water goal for the day.
Exercise
Try to fit in some type of exercise a couple of times a week. You’ll be surprised how good you’ll feel afterward. If you can’t get to a gym take a walk or bike ride with the kids. Or have the kids do a dance work out DVD with you.
Don’t feel guilty about using the time they’re watching a show to fit in your exercise routine. It’s a nice mental break for all of you.
Yoga
Yoga is a fun way to exercise and relax at home when you don’t have a lot of time. Use it as a calming break from the kids or get them involved to do some yoga with you.
Make your time more interesting with Yoga Dice to help change up your workout routine. Just roll the dice and follow the pose. Kids will like to do this with you too.
Sleep
I know it’s hard with kids to get enough sleep especially when they are young. So try and make the most of the time you can sleep by making it a relaxing space. Find a great pillow like My Pillow and put on a lavender sleep mask so you can completely relax.
Fun with Friends

Having some laughs with friends is one of the best ways to help your mental wellbeing. A key to your self-care is making time to visit with friends. Here are a few fun ways to enjoy your friends.
Playdates
Plan a playdate for your kids with other moms you’d want to talk with. This way the kids are happy and you get to spend time with a friend too. Share what’s going on in your life and get help from your friends. Having a good mom friend to talk with can change your whole attitude for the day.
Need to meet more mom friends? Look for local mom meetups with families who have kids similar ages in your community.
Girls Night Out
Sometimes you just need a night out without the kids. Time to talk with your friends without interruptions. So plan a dinner out, coffee meet up or book club night, and get out to bond with your friends.
Walk with a Friend
Take a walk in your neighborhood with a friend. It lets you get in some exercise and spend time chatting with friends. Even if it’s only a half-hour you’ll be glad you got a quick break.
Throw on this cute fanny pack that holds your phone, keys, and a water bottle so you can be hands-free.
Get Out of the House

Manicure & Pedicure
Indulge in a manicure or pedicure for a relaxing break. Enjoy just sitting and being still or catching up on a magazine while you being pampered.
Can’t get out? Give yourself a home manicure and let the kids know you need to sit while your nails dry. It will give you a little break at home and you’ll feel better every time you look at your beautiful nails.
Take a Class
Sign up for a class on something that interests you. Some fun things to look for in your community are cooking, crafting, painting, or photography classes. It’s a scheduled break from the kids that will get you out of the house and the self-care time you need. Ask a friend to join you too.
Go Shopping
Head out on your own or with a friend for an hour or two of shopping. Even if it’s only window shopping it will be nice to be out walking around and having a break. You might even find something new you’ll feel great about wearing when your back home with the kiddos.
Dinner Date
Plan a date night out with your significant other. Use the time to catch up and connect with each other away from the kids. Happiness in your relationship will help with your own wellbeing and self care.
If you don’t have a sitter plan a dinner date at home when the kids go to bed.
